Babiuc will not dismiss his soldiers

The Minister of National Defense Victor Babiuc declared Saturday in his speech delivered at Carei on the occasion of the Army Day, that he hopes to obtain in 1998 a 3% budget of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the Ministry of National Defense. The Defense minister declared in his speech that there was adopted a new strategy regarding the resources and the personnel so that the 65.000 soldiers to be dismissed by 2005 should not become unemployed.
