Basketball supervised by the Mossad agents

In the male basketball match played Wednesday in Bucharest for the "Korac Cup", Dinamo was defeated by the Israeli team hapoel Galil Elyon with 76-78 (43-43).
The security measures taken at this match were the most severe applied in a Romanian sports hall by now. The Israeli came not only with a very well trained team, but also with… six Mossad agents, who co-operated with the Romanian gendarmes, carefully controlling each spectator at the entrance in the hall. The boxes which were usually reserved for the press, were kept this time for the few supporters of the guest team – Israeli diplomats in Bucharest.
The Dinamo players began the first half of the match in force, practising an exact game, in spite of the guests’ defense. On the fifth minute the score was 11-5 for the Romanian team with Sandu Vinereanu the firs violin. On the 7th minute, the Israeli succeeded in tieing to 15, the Romanian supporters outbursting with anti-semitic shouts, trying to intimidate the players with slogans like "Palestina", or "Yasser Arafat". But as in the guest team there were also three North-Americans and a Jamaican, it is most likely that the Romanian supporters’ "attacks" didn’t reached their goal…
The first half of the match ended at a draw (43-43), Dinamo having dominated the first part of the game.
At the 33th minute the score was again at a draw, 65-65, thanks to Constantinescu and Popa’s efforts. Yet, the Dinamo players didn’t concentrate anymore in the last moments of the match, which had an incendiary end: when the score was 76-76 and the guests were attacking, Kennedy marked 2 points, without minding the Romanian defense.
Ivanov and Caraiani strived to tie in the last 4 seconds of the match, but they only succeeded in making panic on the ground and stirring thrills and vain hopes in the stalls. The final score between Dinamo-hapoel was 76-78. The main markers were Vinereanu 17, Constantinescu 15, Carutasu 11, Popa 11, respectively Kennedy 25, Stein 20, Hazan 16, Shelef 15.
The next match within the Korac Cup will be played between Dinamo and the Greek team TAK Papagoy on October 22.
