Constantinescu asked the hunger strikers to go home

President Emil Constantinescu asked Saturday the hunger striking revolutionists to give up this protest and return to their families. The president considers that this protest is "only justified by the lack of dialogue" and that the revolutionists assumed "the risk of generalising such protest actions in a society which is already being in a very serious situation beside the endangering of their own lives. "I consider that a great part of the revolutionists’ objectives have been fulfilled", Constantinescu said. He mentioned that the Government didn’t modify the Law 42 by an ordinance, the bill having to be debated and voted in Parliament. The President of Romania also consider "possible" the demand that the revolutionists’ representatives should participate to the discussions of the Commission in order to check the application of Law 42.
