President Emil Constantinescu declared yesterday that there have been made recently some "significant modifications" regarding the admission criteria to the EU. He didn’t mention which are precisely these modifications and refused to estimate the chances of simultaneously beginning the negotiations with all the candidate states to the EU.
Constantinescu considers that estimations are useless as long as the negotiations are going on. At his return from the visit he took three days ago to Austria, the Foreign Minister Adrian Severin declared that at this moment there is a favourable tendency of the EU countries for the simultaneous admission negotiations with all the candidate states.
