PNTCD shows its weakness

The conflict generated by the modification of Law 42 also revealed a series of problems within the National Christian Democratic Peasant Party (PNTCD). President Constantinescu’s actions have showed lately a certain dissociation between the Presidency and this party. Even the results of the visits made by both Constantinescu and Ciorbea are contradictory. The concessions that the president made to the revolutionists are greater than those made by prime minister. Maybe that was the reason for which the PNTCD and the Presidency representatives decided Wednesday night to improve the communication system by inviting a presidential counsellor at the meetings of the party’s Bureau of Administration, Co-ordination and Control (BCCC). The members of this bureau admitted that the lack of an adequate communication was seen in the way in which the Executive, the Parliament and the Presidency involved in solving the revolutionists’ protest, giving as example the distortion between the president’s measure and the Government’s action, which determined the evolution of the revolutionists’ protest.
