The <Revolution or coup d’etat> dilemma

Victor Ciorbea seems determined to not give way to the revolutionists’ protests. He characterised their claims as a consequence of Ion Iliescu’s political manoeuvre of the revolutionists. Victor Ciorbea’s opinion was shared by most of the MPs within the ruling coalition.
The PNTCD senator Serban Sandulescu announced that he resigns from the parliamentary Commission for the application of Law 42. Sandulescu was the chief of the Commission for the investigation of the December ’89 events. He heard many persons about the events of December ’89 and in his book he published he said that the revolution was confiscated by those who directed the coup d’etat. Sandulescu considers that his resignation is a form of protest against Ion Iliescu and Dan Iosif’s blackmail. In his opinion, this blackmail has two aims: to cover the coup d’etat of December ’89 by which the Romanian revolution was confiscated, and to make anarchy and impede the Executive’s normal activity. Sandulescu also said that Law 42 grant many revolutionist certificates to undeserving people.
AS a protest against senator Sandulescu’s affirmations, many PDSR senators left the meeting. A delegation of PDSR senators got out in front of the senate and presented the revolutionists lead by Dan Iosif Sandulescu’s speech.
