The leaders of the parliamentary groups of the Romanian Social Democracy Party (PDSR), the Great Romania Party (PRM) and the Romanian National Unity Party (PUNR) within the Chamber of Deputies forwarded yesterday to the Permanent Bureau a Code of relations between the parliamentary majority and the Opposition, which should be adopted as a decision of this legislative Chamber.
The project forwarded by the opposition contains 12 articles and stipulates that this code should complete both the Regulation of the chamber of Deputies and the Regulation of the common meetings of the two legislative Chambers.
The text signed by Adrian Nastase (PDSR), Iuliu Furo (PRM) and Valeriu Tabara (PUNR) shows that the majority’s parliamentary groups have the obligation to ensure by their activity the possibility of the opposition to manifest itself. There is also stipulated that the parliamentary groups which do not belong to the ruling coalition should benefit by the status of opposition groups. The independent deputies may be also admitted to the Opposition.
The MGs interpellated by the Opposition are obliged to attend the meetings where there are exposed the interpellations. The reasons for the adoption of the Code Bill are to solve the different opinions and impose the majority’s will in order to solve the conflicts between the opposition and the majority.
