The polls upset the party

The tension is increased by the latest polls, according to which PD and Petre Roman have low positions. Moreover, Petre Roman refused to support Severin in the "spies’ scandal", saying that he has to resign if he has made ungrounded affirmations.
Sources within the PD affirm that Severin and Babiuc have drafted a document for the party’s National Conference, where they complain that Petre Roman takes decisions alone, ignoring the vice-presidents’ role. According to the same sources, Adrian Severin will try to create for himself the function of executive vice-president of PD, which will raise him on the second place in the party’s hierarchy.
The PD National Conference will be followed by elections in all the county branches of the party. The PD leadership is discontent with the activity of the actual local leaderships and with the conflicts appeared in some counties.
