Filmul „An Education” conduce in topul nominalizarilor la premiile BAFTA

Lungmetrajul "An Education" a fost nominalizat la categorii precum "cel mai bun film", "cel mai bun regizor" si "cea mai buna actrita in rol principal" (Carey Mulligan).

De asemenea, "Ticalosi fara glorie/ Inglourious Basterds", de Quentin Tarantino, a obtinut 15 nominalizari, iar "The Hurt Locker", de Kathryn Bigelow, unul dintre favoritii la premiile Oscar de anul acesta, are 12 nominalizari la BAFTA. Pe de alta parte, cel mai recent film al lui James Cameron, "Avatar", si lungmetrajul lui Peter Jackson "The Lovely Bones" au obtinut, fiecare, cate 11 nominalizari.

"Moon", lungmetrajul de debut al regizorului britanic Duncan Jones, a obtinut 10 nominalizari, in timp ce documentarul biografic care il are ca subiect pe John Lennon, "Nowhere Boy", in regia lui Sam Taylor-Wood, a obtinut 6 nominalizari.

De asemenea, Clint Eastwood a obtinut cinci nominalizari – doua in calitate de producator, doua in calitate de regizor si una in calitate de actor, pentru peliculele "Gran Torino", in care a jucat rolul principal, si "Invictus".
